Tips for Curling your hair

If your hair just can’t seem to hold a curl no matter how you hold your curling iron, don’t worry, you’re not alone. There are a large number of factors involved with effectively curling your hair - here are our top 5 tips for how to do it so it lasts…

1. Start with dry hair.

If your hair is wet or even just a little bit damp, it's more susceptible to hair damage. Keeping your hair as healthy as possible is important in achieving curls, which we’ll get to next.

2. Use a heat protectant

This must-use product adds an extra layer of protection against heat, shielding it from possible damage as a result of higher temperatures.

3. Section your hair

People often underestimate the importance of sectioning your hair. By dividing your hair into equal sections and working only on one strand at a time, you will ensure a more even distribution of heat, as well as prevent the hair strand from overheating.

4. Clean your curling wand

As time goes by, hair products such as hairspray, mousse etc… can build up on the surface of the wand which can affect the performance of the tool & make it less effective in styling your hair.

5. Wait until your hair is cool to brush it

Let the curls set first and completely cooled before brushing it through - it’ll make the style last longer.
